Gesha on La Cumbre, planted
Small Gesha block goes in on the highest plot — 1,560 metres, north-facing, cold at night. The variety is slow. So are we.
Small Gesha block went in this week on La Cumbre — 1,560 metres, steep and cold. Roughly 1,200 seedlings on the first pass, more to follow once we see how the first rows take.
Gesha at this altitude is a patience play. We're three to four years out from meaningful yield, and the margin on a bad year is unforgiving. But the plot has the structure the variety wants, and if we're going to plant it anywhere on the farm, this is the ridge.
We'll pair the experiments here with whatever we learn from the Pink Bourbon block at El Bosque. Lab before field.
